Floor Hockey

Faribault Community Ed offers a floor hockey program for grades kindergarten through 2nd grade. I missed the sign-up last last, well technically not missed it I just didn't call about it early enough and it was already full so this year I signed him up as soon as it came out. He really wanted to learn how to play floor hockey better. They had a short unit on on floor hockey in gym class but it was just doing basic drills which is what he did this first night except he did have the opportunity to learn how to play goalie. They will get to play games against each other as well. Playing games against each other was not something they got to do in gym class. This is only six sessions long but it will be fun for him to learn and he already enjoyed the first class.

2017 K-2 Track & Field Day

Here are a bunch of pictures & one video for track & field day for grades K-2. Henry has actually gotten quite fast and is one of the fastest kids in his grade. Currently he is the fastest boy in his classroom. Last year he surprised himself and started out now being so fast and being in the slower half to run the half mile but by the end of the year in kindergarten he was the fastest boy in the 1/2 mile in his classroom. This year when they did the 1/2 mile at the start of the year and ending of the year he was the first boy in his classroom for both. His spring time 1/2 mile was 4:06.

This was his first time ever doing hurdles, so he started out a little slow because he wasn't sure about it, but by the end he caught and beat the kid he was racing to the end of the Hurdles.

Ummmmm.....he's not going to be a high jumper. Lol!

Videos from Last Hockey Practice

They split the kids up in to 4 groups, this is Henry's group which consists of the very beginner level that are not as adept on their skates yet. He started the sessions not really sure about the classes, but he ended up loving it. This was the first time this Learn to Skate program was offered in Frbo, so I think they have kinks to work out, especially with this very beginner level. Not really exciting videos, but they are short glimpses of him skating and having lessons.
