Pool Time
Henry and his friend Jared at the pool. Henry learned how to do Flips off the diving board at this visit to the pool. I brought them in the afternoon came home to play and have supper then went back again in the evening. Jared didn't make it for a sleepover and wanted to go home but they had Henry come to their house the next day for a sleepover so Henry was happy to have had a sleepover with a friend this summer.

Little Feet Summer Soccer
Tuesday and Thursday evenings in June & July were spent at the soccer field watching him learn knew skills and play with his team. This was a team that had players all mixed up and didn't have all from one school (like spring soccer, but that was a different park & rec doing that one). He totally lucked out and was on a team with 2 of his buddies that he was in the same classroom with. His friend Jared has actually been in his class the last 2 years and Mason K was just from this year. Unfortunately, both are in different classrooms next year. Actually, all 3 are in 3 different classrooms next year. They are all in basketball together as well. Also, Mason K is doing golf with Henry this summer too (Isabel is too, just a different group).
Their team won the "Watermelon Cup" and got their picture put in the newspaper. That little guy in the yellow shorts (I think his name is Damien) is super fast and a really good ball handler. He really scored quite a bit and really gave their team an advantage. The coach was a good coach and really taught them about dribbling and passing and tried to make sure he was giving them equal playing time.

1st grade Farm Field Trip
Last week Henry had his first spring field trip for the end of the school year. They went to a dairy farm and got to see how email girl works and three different breeds of cows. They also had a petting zoo with a lamb a goat piglets and a pony for them to pet.
There was also a couple pieces of Machinery they were allowed to go sit in and pretend to drive. Henry opted not to go into the skid steer because he can do that anytime he wants with his grandpa. The last collage on the bottom is some pictures of some other friends of his, he is in the one of them eating a snack.
This was just the three classes of first grade that went on this field trip. This Farm ships to organic valley, so it is an organic dairy farm. The Minnesota Dairy Association sponsors Farm field trips for the kids. And 3rd grade he gets to go to another Farm. Earlier this year they had a field trip to the library , which is something that he has been to a lot and has his own library card but a lot of kids have not in this may be the first time they have ever been there or the first time they are getting their own library card.
He has one more field trip coming up later in the month to the Crayola Experience at the Mall of America. I wasn't picked to be one of the free chaperones but they gave the option before other adults to pay for their own admission to come along as a chaperone so I will be doing that.

Budding Artist
At one of our recent playdates we hosted, the boys were allowed to paint with acrylics on canvas. These paintings that they did will be featured at the Kids ArtsVenture at the Art Center on Tuesday night. This is our third month of participating (well, sister has done it 3 times, Henry will have done it 2 times.)
They seemed to have fun painting and mixing all the colors.

Playing Catch-up With Pictures
Gosh, I have been really good about uploading the pictures & making collages and putting a few on FB, but there are always so many other that are going on the blogs that aren'y goin on FB, plus there is the pressure to put in text, so it gets delayed and then I am a week behind. Oh well, now you can see them. The "Weeks" picture I usually get in the slide show that day or within a day, so you can always watch that to see it if I don't have it in a post yet.

Henry was more into the dog (which is the mascot of the company sponsoring the musical.) You can see that when Cinderella was holding him he wanted to look at the dog.
