4 Months Old

Not sure if he is technically 4 months or not since it is the 28th and he was born on the 30th, but it's the last day of the month, so we are going to go with it. These pictures I took with my camera phone. I took some with the digital camera, but they didn't look as cute as these. These are also the pictures I sent out as picture messages.

He is really getting into toys. He lights up when he sees some bright colored toys in front of him and knows it is meant for him. So, now I need to go though his hand toys and throw some in the diaper bags & my purse and get out the toys for the carseat.

Yesterday he made two full turns in one of the exercausers, so he is starting to figure that out and that he an move his legs in there. The other one is a little taller, so his foot touches but isn't quite flat enough unless he puts pressure on them to stand, which he does a little bit.

So, Isabel has recently started playing with her baby Henry. She has not been a huge fan of dolls (except dolly), but now that she knows she has her own baby Henry (which she has had since she was 7 months old) she has been playing with it.

Big sister took these pictures (I really need to get her her own camera again.) She does pretty good. I had to crop these in. But she really wanted to take pictures of mommy & Henry. We're pretty cute. :)

17 Weeks Old

Hard to believe he is 17 weeks old already and will be 4 months old in a couple days. We did have his 4 month doctor appt today and as you can see by the charts below, he is still well above the rainbow. My big little boy. He had two vaccines, one was oral & the other a shot. And he surprised me by not crying at all for the shot. Last time he wailed. Not sure I will be so lucky for future ones, but am glad he didn't cry for this one.

This morning I took the kids to Cabela's. You can read more about that on Isabel's blog. I have to say though, that Henry was in love with the fish in the tank. I guess there is just something about fish, real or fake, that he loves. Isabel was that way about trees, guess his is fish.

This is one of Henry's favorite toys right now. He loves to grab at it, stick the rings in his mouth, try to pick it up, look at all the sides, & open the flaps. His sister didn't care for it as much. The other toys he loves is the crib mirror, which his sister loved too.

WEIGHT: 18 pounds 13 ounces

LENGTH: 27.5 inches

Isabel Singing to Henry

Check them out!

Brunch Playgroup

Isabel took the top picture of Henry at today's playgroup. She did a good job. The bottom picture is of Henry & Nora. She is 7 weeks younger than my giant baby.

Valentine Parent/Child Dance

Isabel & her daddy are about ready to head out to a parent/child valentine dance. She is very excited. Henry & I might join them depending upon when he wakes from his nap. They are supposed to take pictures of them together at the dance, so hopefully it looks nice. I took this while daddy was taking a nap, because when he would be ready to go I would be holding a napping Henry.

16 Weeks Old

He likes to suck on knuckle lately, so I thought it was appropriate to put that picture in here. He has really been working on doing mini sit-ups, which is really helping him develop some core strength. He's been trying to roll from back to tummy, but he gets on his side & just stays there since he is such a solid little guy who has kind of a square shape.
I was looking at Isabel's blog and his 3 months stats were almost exactly what she was at 5 months and she was no small baby either. She was always 95th percentile. It's just that he is a whole block above the rainbow for both height & weight.
Eating cereal is going well. He has 1-2 tsp of cereal mixed with water twice a day.
Next week we start him sleeping at night in his crib. He still gets me up twice a night. He actually nurses 3 times at night yet. He goes to bed around 7pm (really it's anywhere between 6:30-7:30) and then gets up 4-5 hours later to nurse, which is either when I am going to bed or decide I might as well go to bed since I have to go upstairs to nurse him. And then again at 1:30 & 3:30 and the gets up for the day at 6:30am, so he usually gets 11.5 hours of night sleep. I wish there was only 2 night feedings, but having the third be when I go to bed isn't too bad.

My Little Talker

He can be quite chatty & loves to talk to us. Here is a video of him.

Minnesota Children's Museum (again)

We bought a membership here, so you will see us going here often, especially when it's cold out.

This picture was a surprise to me on the camera because daddy took it when he let me sleep an hour longer. My kids are so cute!

15 Weeks Old

His weekly picture is a day late, but also includes pictures of him trying his first food, Earth's Best Rice Cereal. We are starting out with a small amount like we did with Isabel (1 tsp. of cereal with 3 tsp. water). He liked it fine enough. I think it's so bland that it is all a matter of figuring out what to do with the food in your mouth. He ate all of it and did a good job of it. He is 3 1/2 months old and that was when we started Isabel. I know they say, "Wait until 4 months" but I still stand by that I think he is ready to start rice cereal. We will most likely wait on the fruits & veggies until 4 months, just like we did with his sister.

Winterfest 2010 @ RBNC

The top picture was taken before we left home & the bottom is at RBNC. He slept in his front carrier pretty much the whole time. He really didn't care for the wind. He's actually a pretty sleepy boy again today, probably because he got me up 3 times at night again.

14 Weeks Old

On Friday, Henry turned 14 weeks old. He will be 3 1/2 months in another week. Crazy. Let's see, what's new in his life. Well, we opened up a savings account for him today. He is definitely starting to settle into a napping schedule, which is nice to have something become predictable.

He is really enjoying his baby & me class. He loves the songs & doing the actions with me. His face just lights up. We have started singing/playing the songs at home too. We also started brushing his gums.

These two are too funny. They just kept laughing at each other laughing and smiling. It was hilarious and I am glad I got pictures of it.

3 Month Weight

He weighs 17 pounds 11 ounces at 3 months old (27 inches long too). For both length & weight is proportionately a block above 100th percentile.

Henry - 3 Months Old

Again, another mention for Kirsi's blog, as she took these photos for us. They head back to TX (hopefully, for them) in the spring. I am seriously having a hard time deciding my favorite one that I want on the mantel and want to make copies of for family & friends. Guess I will have to ask daddy which ones he likes.

Henry & Mommy

My friend Kirsi took these for us when she was over for a playdate. Check out her blog.
