Sakatah Lake State Park

Henry HATED the life jacket and we just couldn't bring him out their just balling. So, this was as close as he got to the water. We will have to see if there are other infant life jakets out there. It seriously was crunching his neck.

Giddy Up!

They are almost exactly the same age in these photos. Henry is the top picture and Isabel is the bottom picture.

Introducing Grandma to RBNC

I Don't Wanna Work......

This was sister's idea and Henry really enjoyed it!

30 Weeks Old

We got the walker out for him a week or so ago and he loves it. He can walk all over the place in it and he finds that very enjoyable. We have a really great house for a walker, no accessible stairs going down and lots of hard wood floors.

Henry's Baptism

7 Months Old

These photos were taken at River Bend Nature Center. While we were there I was showing him a frog and I freaked out because he grabbed it from my hand and he has a very strong grip and I was scared he was going to squeeze the frog to it's death and then I would have quite a mess to clean up.
This was just taken while we were playing outside the other day.
This picture is from Friday. He has been sticking things in his mouth a lot and gnawing on them. He didn't seem to mind the sour taste of the rhubarb.

29 Weeks

Here's my happy boy. People have a hard time believing that he ever cries, which he doesn't do too much. He's generally pretty content & happy and if he is troubled he usually will do some whining. Although, with separation anxiety starting in he will cry if he wants to be held by mom.

He was such a trooper the past few days while we were all over the place for sister's birthday festivities.

Today he got his next round of the Pc and HIB vaccines.

Next weekend is his baptism.

Driving Lessons

The last couple stores I have take the kids to I have let Henry ride in the car with his sister as long as he has a functional seatbelt and she stays in there with him. It helps to have him propped up next to her. This time he was pretty excited about the car and when she showed him how to do things in the car (turn the wheel, honk the horn) then he really wanted to do it. I wish you could have seen it live because he was just too darn cute! Not sure if you can tell, but Isabel is protecting her bag of Twizzlers that we were going to buy.

6 1/2 Months Old

Normally, I wouldn't be doing the 1/2 month pictures, but since we were doing sister's 4 year old pictures I wanted to do some of him as well so that when I hand everyone his 5 month old picture we had done at the Wal-Mart portrait Studio I can also hand then an updated picture of him that I did. I think I did a much better job. :)

We did picture of Henry with each of us because he would let us. He prefers to be held and loves smiling. His sister, on the other hand, has grown to dislike posed pictures and is in this akward stage where she realizes she can control her smile but gets confused on jst how she should smile so she ends up looking fake or silly rather than a nice natural smile. I remember when Isabel was Henry's age and it was so easy to get a nice smiley picture!

Henry loves his mama so much!
He has really started to get into grabbing us to hig us, which is oh-so-sweet! The other new thing he does now too is splash in the bathtub. The past few bathtimes I tried showing him how and tonight he was just splashing away (oh no! what have we done!) He has also enjoyed playing with his sister in the sandbox with the new white & pink sand we bought. Surprisingly he doesn't try to eat the sand (so far!)

And finally, another picture of us. This one is my favorite, but I need a vertical picture above the mantel, so the one on sister's blog will go there and this one I will get copies of to give to people.
What you didn't know, but know now that I am telling you, is that I had to crop in this picture. We are in the process of teaching sister to be ladylike and close her legs when she has a dress on, but that wasn't the case for the picture. Luckily, there wasn't much showing and I could crop out a good picture.

28 Weeks

Well, our big news this week is that he slept through the entire night for 2 nights, the rest of the week he has been getting me up once still, but usually between 4-5pm.

He also started to roll over from stomach to back with proficiency, which is nice to see.

And the other big thing this week is that he had his InfantSEE eye appt and everything is developing normal and there is no problems with his eyes. That's a nice thing to hear.

Henry's Wednesday

The top is just a little collage of Henry throughout the day: at the CSA farm tour, at Mc Donald's, hanging out at home with his sister, and eating supper.

He is just growing up so fast that I thought I better get some more n@ked baby photos and bath photos before he gets too big.
He loves sitting up in the bath tub and playing with his sister in there.

After his bath I lay him on the floor to dry & dress him and he loves to play with the towels that I wrap him in. He gets so goofy and rolls around and pulls the towel all over.

Minneapolis Institute of Arts

You can read more about the events we did there, but first I want to comment on the first picture in the top collage. He is saying "oooooooohhhhhhh!" a lot. They also have a Family Center room there with a Quiet Room (which is accessed by getting a key from the Info desk) and is a good place to go nurse in quiet & you can dim the lights. And they have a bunch of toys in the center so that kids can play. It's a good place for them to touch things and get creative on their own.

So, I decided to get a little creative myself in one area where we could create our own artwork while listening to music. I had Henry with me and decided I want to trace him and make him part of the art. I thought I was kind of creative. While I colored he just sat there and stuck markers in his mouth.

Just some every day stuff. Normally he is more smiley, but he has a headcold.

You will have to email me to get the direct link to these. I have made them private.

Loves his Airplane Swing

6 Months

He actually turned 6 months & 26 weeks on the same day, but I didn't want his weeks photo & months photo to be the same one. So, this was taken a couple days before he turned 6 months when we took a trip to River Bend Nature Center with some good friends.

He is generally a really happy boy, but he has started to go through some separation anxiety with mom. I know, I am pretty awesome, so who can blame him. He has always been a mama's boy, but now it is intensified.

Well, he had his 6-month well child doctor visit and he is now 28.75" long (95%+), 21.5 lbs (95%+), and 17.75"(80%) head circumference. The website I had put his measurements on (& his sister's for 2 years) is now defunct. Boo!

We always have a good time at the nature center. I gave him some dried leaves to feel. He loved crunching them. I was surprised that he did not try to put them in his mouth. He has really been into feeling things with his hands more and not as much with his mouth, don't get me wrong though, he does put things in his mouth.

26 Weeks

This picture was taken on Friday when he turned 26 weeks (& 6mo.) I took it when we were outside planting with our friends for our belated Earth Day party.

Two days before he turned 6 months he rolled from back to front & then did it again the next day (Th), but now we haven't seen it since. He is balancing on his legs a lot now, but if he stops holding them his legs just turn to jello and he will just tumble right down.

He is starting to eat lots of non-baby food. So far we have given him some graham crackers (LOVES these), some rice, some piece of hot dog bun, canned peached chopped & some saltines.

He is still getting up twice a night and I am exhausted. Last night I only had to stay in 5 minutes because he wasn't hungry & just was lonely. So I rocked him and he went to sleep right away and I could leave, but his second waking he was hungry and nursed on both sides for quite a while.
