5 Months already! Every month that goes by it is so hard to believe it has been that long already. Today he had 2 shots, Pc & HIB. He handled them like a champ. Just 2 tiny cries were let out after each one and when I picked him up they went away.
We are still struggling with naptime for him. Today he did get down for a 2 hour nap, but it was exhausting for me. I really need him to take quality naps because that is my time to spend time with Isabel working on projects or working on my own projects. Even though I was exhausted when he finally got to sleep in his crib, I quickly was re-energized when I was able to work on a project with Isabel, some worksheets with her and a project of my own. I got so much done during those 2 hours (except nap, which I could have used too).
This picture was taken yesterday when you needed a jacket outside. Today, no jacket or hat required. Henry seems to handle the wind much better as long as it's a warm wind. He doesn't sputter so much. Speaking of which, the boys makes lots of noise. Today he was trying to put his toys off the activity gyms and he was just yelling at them. Kinda funny if you just watch him.

Como, Easter Bunny, & Children's Museum
We have had a busy couple of days. We took the kids to Como Zoo & Conservatory on Friday. Henry slept through the zoo, but he was awake for the conservatory part. He enjoyed touching and grabbing the leaves. It was nice & warm in there and humid as well. It was actually quite nice considering the temperature that morning had dropped to 25 degrees and it was windy. It was so nice to be inside there.
Here is Henry's first time meeting the Easter Bunny. Look at how long this boy is. Seriously, does that look like a (almost) 5 month old size baby? No, it's not. He is wearing 12 month clothes already. Crazy. This summer he will be in 18 months and will probably be in 2T by his first birthday. My big little boy.
Henry did so great at this evening event. I brought him dressed in his jammies and he fell asleep in his stroller around his normal bedtime (after taking some time for him to nurse), then slept in the car and woke up briefly when I took him back out of his carseat. He is such a much more adaptable baby to different situations than his sister was.
We've actually been pushing the bedtime thing with his recently because of other events, but it's good because I do want him to start going to bed closer to 7:30 rather than 6:30 so that he can be up & out with us this summer.
Speaking of bedtime, with the risk of jinxing myself tonight, he has been only getting up once a night for almost a week now. THANK YOU!
21 Weeks
Henry is 21 weeks old. This past week we were working on naptime training. It went pretty well. He is definitly a kid that needs a nap every 2 hours, as opposed to a certain times of the day. So, if he takes a 45 minute nap instead of a 1.5-2 hour nap, then his next nap will come sooner since he is tired after 2 hours. He has been averaging 3 hours of naps a day with usually 1 nap of 1.5 hour and 2 naps of 45 minutes. But he is napping in his crib, which is AMAZING to me. I have gotten so many projects done with Isabel and some crafty presents made for the kids. Although, what I really needed was a nap, but the times I was going to try to take one was when he was 45 minutes into a nap and then was done. Darn it.

20 Weeks
Let's see, what's new in the life of Henry. Well, he is making new noises that sound like dinosaur roars and Chewbacca. He is starting to go down to bed easier and actually let someone other than mommy put him down to sleep. Our neighbor came over to babysit Henry since mommy had a gardening class and daddy & sister had an ECFE class.
He is doing a lot of grabbing & started moving things from one hand to the next. And everything goes in his mouth. He loves to eat pureed bananas & cereal.
Henry & I took walks 4 days this week. He loves to swing at the park.
And even though this probably earns me a "bad mom" award, he loves to watch tv with his sister. I don't let him watch it long, but long enough so I can switch the laundry or get a start on supper. He really seems to like Chuggington, but that may be because his sister watches it so much.
He loves to be read to & likes to grab at images in the books. He really likes his fabric book that he can squeeze & pull. He also enjoys the touch & feel books.
He seemed to like the artwork. This month the gallery was of student artwork. There was some neat stuff there. He kept trying to reach out to the artwork. His favorites had the brightest colors.

MN Orchestra
Henry was awake for the entire concert. There was one point where I had both kids on my lap and they were holding hands. It was so precious. I wish the concert wasn't going at that time so I could have taken a picture. He watched the concert and also watched his sister a lot. He is just in awe of her.
Isabel actually took the picture of just Henry and Henry & mommy. Mommy's friend Elizabeth, who was with, took the picture of the three of us.

Time with Henry
Isabel took this picture a couple days ago and thought I should put it on here since this is how I spend several hours of my day. My attempts to make him nap in his crib have not been successful and I remain trying and continuing to hold him so he could get some kind of nap in. I am not looking for any advice on this. It will work itself out. His sister was pretty much the same way, although I have a hard time remembering when that changed.

Hanging Outside
Henry hung out in his stroller outside and we walked around while his sister rode her bike. It was such a nice day out this afternoon
Henry has had 3 days with bananas & cereal and he loves it. So far he has had pears & bananas. The pears were the pear sauce I made this fall. The bananas I mashed right before we ate them. I plan to make a lot of his baby food, but I did go buy a couple jars with squash and sweet potatoes. I don't like those things, so I won't be serving them with our dinner, so for him to try them it will have to be jarred. Next we will try a vegetable.

Thing 2
Our at-home preschool theme this week is Dr. Suess. Today is Dr. Seuss' Birthday and I dressed the kids up as Thing 1 & Thing 2. So, Henry got to be part of this week's theme, well, usually I try to include him in whatever we are doing, but some of the activities are not fit for a 4 month old. He does have some Dr. Suess board books, so I have been reading those to him this week too.

Pipsqueaks: Rochester, MN
This morning I took the kids to Pipsqueaks in Rochester to meet some others from our playgroups. Henry was free, but when he turns 6 months we will have to pay for him. I was very pleasantly surprised that they had activity jumpers for the wee ones. He loved being able to be in one part of the time.
